The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, July 26th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 33 members and five visitors in attendance. Lion Ted Smith was responsible for the program, and also gave the presentation.Ted spoke about finding humor in our everyday life, and the health benefits of humor. Then, he read some humorous quotes and sayings by notable people such as: Winston Churchill, Will Rogers, Rodney Dangerfield, Phyllis Diller and others. One set of quotes was titled "tactful insults." These were very humorous.The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, August 2nd, at noon at Zavala's. The program will be the monthly business meeting.The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
