Texas Songwriters in the Round at Sandstone Cellars Winery

On August 18th, be at Sandstone Cellars Winery, where history is made, as well as wine! Great musicians gather on the old front porch of the rustic pioneer-style building and share rapturous Texas music. The hills and the rivers, the granite and clean air- all part of a lovely visit to Mason Texas, the Topaz capital of the USA. Why not get the family and your wagon and head on over!Each month, there is a special guest, the August guest-star is Karen Abrahams. Originally from Taft,Texas, writing, singing, flat-picking the guitar, Karen Abrahams plays American music. Her lyrically driven sound is based on Americana roots music including blues, country, and folk, with honky-tonk, Tejano, and Cajun influences thrown in for good measure. Her's is part of a smorgasbord of improvisational music that has developed here over time, a music that is deeply rooted in our cultural traditions. Her music has taken her around Europe several times as well as the U.S. she is listed in the Florida blues hall of fame, featured in the book “Texas Singer Songwriters “ Best of Kerrville Folk festival cd compilation, Kerrville New Folk finalist, “Karen Abrahams Day” in Austin ,Tx. B.Iden Payne award and Austin Theatre Critics award for original music. Her band still plays regularly at high profile venues such as Gruene Hall and old Settlers Music Fesetival.more info at, or friend her on FacebookJerialice Arsenault, TSR founder,contunues to support the numerous songwriters who have graced the stage over the years, including Steve Brooks, Brenda Freed, Daniel Makins and many more. Steve Brooks will be back in September by special request. The goal of TSR is to enable songwriters and their motto is “Tomorrow’s Hits Today!” Arsenault donates studio time to each “star” artist in her multi-track recording studio as well provide meals and lodging. Jerialice has been an award winning songwriter since 1980 and is also a producer and engineer in her state-of-the-art recording studio on the Llano River near Castell, Texas. She believes that all songwriters respons to heroic times that are challenging America now. Although not all songwriters perform, TSR specializes in those who do, thus bringing family entertainment to the towns in the Texas hills. TSR does travel at times and also benefits Chemo Sabe, a musical out-reach program. The town of Mason supports the arts and has donated to make this event possible.All songwriters are welcome and a free glass of wine to those who brave the stage! There is an open mic from 9:30 to 10:00. Come on down!!
