Pontotoc Sand Mine Meeting Saturday
Wednesday, September 7, 2011 • Posted September 7, 2011

There will be a meeting on Saturday, September 10th, at 2:00 p.m., in the Pontotoc Community Center regarding the proposed sand mine/plant that would be adjacent to our community. Mr. Marc McCord will be here to present information and answer questions regarding sand mines. There will be petitions to sign in opposition to the sand plant and for the protection of the Hickory Aquifer. We need as many people as possible to sign these petitions. Please make arrangements to attend. A good number of Pontotoc residents attended the Katemcy meeting on September 4th, and it is expected that many of those people will be in attendance at the Pontotoc meeting.Because the sand mines have the potential to change the face of northern Mason County, and the lives of many of those residents, an invitation is extended to all Mason County residents to drop by the meeting and gain further information.
