Thank you all for your support and all of your donations for the Firefighters and fire victims in Bastrop TX, this has been a very sad and heart breaking event for our great state. We will continue to make trips to Bastrop for as long as those folks are in need. With the help of Ranchland Western Wear and Mason Feed Store, the Mason County Chamber of Commerce has collected many desperately needed items for the victims. Please feel free to drop off any items that you can spare at any of these three locations. Here are some additional ideas for donations: Firefighters: Gloves w/rubber dots, gum, cough drops, small bottles of baby powder, nasal spray, boxers/underwear, bandanas, work gloves, face masks, Neosporin, small bottles of pain relievers, pillowcases. Victims: These people have lost everything, we are taking clothing, adult and children, any hygiene items, blankets, pillow cases, sheets, cots, non perishable food items, water, toys, anything will help.Calendar of events:The Mason County Chamber of Commerce is having an OPEN HOUSE at the Chamber office (108 Ft. McKavitt) on September the 14th from 5 - 6 p.m. This is your chance to see the beautiful chamber remodel and shake the hands of the Board members and the Executive Director. We will be serving everyone finger foods and drinks!! Don’t miss your chance to win the 2011 Polaris Ranger as well, tickets are only $10.00. We will have the awesome gun list posted for those of you interested in being a gun donor or purchasing tickets to WIN WIN WIN at the 2011 Wild Game Dinner that will be held at the Community Center on November 12th 2011, gates open at 5:30 pm!2011 Fall Mixer has been scheduled for October the 6th 2011at Capitol Farm Credit, located a 431 Ft. McKavitt Mason TX from 5:30 pm- 8:00 pm. Come join us for a back yard style BB-Q, they will be serving hamburgers, hotdogs and ice cream!
