It is that time of the year again for school to start and for us as parents and a community to support our future generation. There are many ways to show support for the youth in our local school. Due to the recent economic situation of our nation, and the recent budget cuts with our education system, our faculty and students are going to need us now more than ever! The Mason PTO’s main goals are to attain volunteers to assist our teachers, and to raise money through various fundraisers to help meet their needs in providing the best education possible for our children. The Mason Elementary PTO recently met and elected new officers for the 2011-2012 school years and discussed fundraising goals. The officers have set a goal to raise $10,000 this year to be able to put back into our local elementary school. We will be hosting a variety of fundraisers throughout the year in the hopes of accomplishing our goal. Every Friday morning during football season, before school starts in the cafeteria, Mason Puncher Spirit ribbons will be available for $1 each to our faculty, parents, community, and students. Also this fall, we have puncher purple Mason Elementary Exemplary t- shirts for sale. Student sizes are $10 each and adult sizes are $15 each. They may be purchased in the school office. Each student will also receive an order form in their folder as well. Year round the PTO hosts a box top drive to raise money. Box tops are located on many of our food labels that are already in our pantry. This is a great avenue for our entire community to participate in. All you have to do is cut out your box tops and we will do the rest. There will be more information coming on box tops in the weeks to come. In the months to come, the PTO will be hosting a $500 gift card raffle, our annual Christmas poinsettia sale, and last but not least our school supplies box sale at the end of the year. So as you can see, there are numerous opportunities for you to help join our efforts to see that the children’s needs are met. Whether it is volunteering at the school or in the classrooms, cutting your box tops, or participating in any of our fundraisers, let’s come together and make this a successful year! For more information you may contact any PTO officer. The 2011-2012 Mason PTO officers are:

President: Jennifer Row

Secretary: Angela Gammill

Treasurer & Public Relations: Shayne Smith

Volunteer Coordinator: Stephanie Hernandez

Fundraising Coordinator: Michelle Chapman
