Kendal Hemphill Book Signing at County Library
Wednesday, September 28, 2011 • Posted September 28, 2011

Local author Kendal Hemphill will be signing copies of The Buck Never Got Here at the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Library from 1:00-3:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 1. Kendal lives here in Mason, where he writes a weekly outdoor humor column for the Mason County News and other local newspapers and a monthly political commentary column for Texas Fish & Game magazine. Have you ever wondered how to use a compass, build a canoe, properly clean a gun, cast a fly rod, or shoot a muzzle-loading rifle? Well, “you won’t learn any of that stuff from this book.” But you might get answers if you pay Kendal a visit, and if you buy his book, you will be treated to “a cross between Dave Barry and Pat McManus.” After all—to use on of Kendal’s favorite Mark Twain quotes—“The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who can’t.”
