Mason Study Club News

The Mason Study Club President, Linda Kessler, welcomed back all current and new members, Kay Hudler, Alberta Birk, and Kathy Jordan at the regular scheduled meeting on September 28, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. in the Stribling Room of the Mason County Library. An enjoyable meal was served by the 2011-2012 officers. Judy Branch introduced the guest speaker Brenda Pape who gave an informative talk on mohair, spinning, and weaving. She demonstrated the usage of the spinning wheel to weave thread, how to dye thread (yarn) for usage in a garment. Beautiful examples of her work were displayed. Following the guest speaker the regular business meeting was held. Officer and committee reports were given. The Mason Study Club is continuing the Book Buddy program under the leadership of Mary Freytag. Other community members who are interested in assisting with this program please contact Mary Freytag or a member of the club. The officers for 2011-2012 are: President Linda Kessler, Vice-President Judy Branch, Secretary Joyce Mutschink, Treasurer Gladys Kaderka, Parliamentarians Mary Polk and Mary Eastes, Reporter Jean Dudney, and Historian Linnda Graham.
