On Wednesday morning, I had the opportunity to sit down for breakfast with Marc Rowland, CEO of Frac Tech Services, LLC, and Pam Percival, Director of Corporate Communications. It will come as no surprise to regular readers that there were a number of issues that we were unable to find agreement upon concerning the plans for a frac sand facility in Katemcy.Mr. Rowland allowed me to express my concerns in a number of areas, and he offered his position on the issues facing his company. We discussed water and air issues, as raised by opponents to the facility, and talked about the emotional issues that go beyond those areas. We also talked about Monday night's public meeting held by Proppant to address questions from the public. We agreed that there were still many unanswered questions, and Mr. Rowland offered to provide a direct forum, working with the Mason County News, to answer and/or address those issues. All questions can be emailed to the News at firstname.lastname@example.org , or can be dropped by the office. We will treat the questions as we would submissions for our Letters to the Editor. No anonymous submissions will be accepted, and all questions must include the contact information of the person posing the question. I will forward the questions on to Mr. Rowland, and we will publish those responses in multiple editions of the paper. The Wednesday meeting ended with all parties agreeing that an ongoing discussion will benefit all the parties involved, and the News is pleased to offer this forum.
