Robert Palacio, 49, of Kerrville, passed from this life at a local hospital on Friday, October 14, 2011.Born in Mason, TX on March 1, 1962, he was the son of Alfredo and Jesusa (Cantu) Palacio. He had lived in Kerrville for many years.Robert made spending time with his family a high priority and always found a reason for holding a barbeque. He would often take his family fishing, hunting and camping. Carpentry was a passion of his, and he was always there to lend a helping hand to those needing help. He could fix anything.One of his greatest joys was organizing and participating in fund raisers. Robert was a beloved part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church family and was involved in many activities and field trips for the Hill Country Seventh-day Adventist School.A hard working man that provided for his family, he was known as “Mr. Mom”. He came from a big family that meant the world to him, and when Robert needed a kidney transplant in 1987, his sister, Terry donated hers. He became a donor himself so that at his death, others could live a better life.Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 30 years, Mary Alice De La Rosa of Kerrville; his four children, Kenneth, Cassandra, Stephanie and Matthew; his precious grandchildren, Gabriel Castillo, Ashton Espinoza, Mia Ochoa and Miles and Robert James Scheineman; his parents, Alfredo and Jesusa Palacio of Mason; his three brothers, Martin Palacio of Mason, Joe Palacio of Lockhart, TX and Tommy Ray Palacio of Mason; two sisters, Terry Garza of Dilly, TX and Beatrice Torrez of Mason and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, from 4-8 p.m.A celebration of his life will be held at the Hill Country Seventh-day Adventist Church, Harper Rd, Kerrville on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 1 p.m. with committal services following at Garden of Memories, Kerrville.The family suggests that donations in his name be made to the Palacio Family Trust, C/O Wells Fargo Bank.The family invites you to leave a message or memory at www.kerrvillefuneralhometx.com by selecting Obituaries.
