Clara Hulda Woerner Kothmann

Clara H. Kothmann passed away on November 6, 2011, in the Knopp Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 91.Clara Hulda Woerner Kothmann was born in Gillespie County on October 10, 1920. She was the oldest child of Edmund and Zelima “Neffendorf’ Woerner of Fredericksburg. Clara was baptized on November 28, 1920, by Pastor Konsack. She was confirmed on April 14, 1935, in Bethany Lutheran Church by Pastor Theo Haag. Her confirmation verse was: “Teach me to do Thy will, for Thou art my God, Thy spirit is good, lead me into the land of uprightness.” (Psalm 143:10) Clara attended public schools in Gillespie County. On May 25, 1939, Clara was united in marriage with Silas Ervin Henry Kothmann in Bethany Lutheran Church. On July 9, 1939, Clara joined Hilda United Methodist Church in Mason County, where she remained a member until 2000 when she joined the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. Silas and Clara lived in Mason County where Silas ranched and Clara worked as a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband Silas; two brothers Marvin and Theodore Woerner; three sisters Ruby Geistweidt, Martha Jordan, and Minnie Tatsch; and one grandson Keith Michael Walsh. Clara is survived by her children, Sidney and wife Jane Kothmann of Dallas; Eldon and wife Carol Kothmann of Mason; and Glenda Kothmann of Fredericksburg. In addition, she is survived by grandson Konrad and wife Michelle Kothmann of Austin; granddaughter Jennifer and husband Dan Delp of Dallas; granddaughter Kaci Kothmann of Menard; and great grandchildren Maggie, Ellie and Bair Kothmann of Austin; and Jillian, Daniel and Gable Delp of Dallas. Also surviving are two sisters Olga and husband Stanley Kothe of Fredericksburg and Elvira Goodwin of Brownwood. Funeral Services for Clara H. Kothmann will be Wednesday November 9, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Beckmann Funeral Home with Rev. Danielle Knapp officiating. Visitation with the family was Tuesday November 8, 2011, from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m.Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospital.
