Wednesday, November 9, 2011 • Posted November 9, 2011

The National Honor Society will be sponsoring a Blood Drive at the High School on Friday, November 11th from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. On the day of the drive, donors will receive a mini physical consisting of blood pressure, temperature, pulse and iron level check. In addition, donors will receive a t-shirt and will be entered in a drawing for a $25 gift certificate at Northside Café. All donors must be at least 16 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in general good health, and must not have given blood within the past 8 weeks. A picture ID and a list of countries you have visited in the last 12 months are also required. 16 year old donors must have a parent/guardian sign a Minor Donor Permit in order to participate in the blood drive. These permits can be picked up at the high school office. The blood drive is being conducted by the United Blood Services of San Angelo, which provides blood and blood components to 10 area hospitals. Make an appointment if you wish to be taken before “walk-ins.” Donors can visit www.UnitedBloodServices.org or call the office at (325)347-1122 ext. 3 to reserve a time. Find the hero in you, and together we can make your donation safe, fun and as quick as possible.
