Texas Outdoor News Comes to KHLB 102.5 FM

Texas Outdoor News joins the KHLB line up Saturday mornings from 7 to 8. Hosted by Harold Gunn and Bill Olson, T.O.N. has been the number one outdoors radio program in the state for over nineteen years. It is an hour of news, interviews, hints and insight into the great outdoors. Each week they offer timely interviews with expert hunters, anglers, industry and political leaders from around the state and across the nation, plus, the weekly “Best Bets” for fishing and hunting and much more. Harold Gunn, Producer/Co-Host, brings a lifetime of broadcast experience to TEXAS OUTDOOR NEWS based on over 40 years as a writer, producer and host of radio and television interview and entertainment programs. Gunn is a fifth generation Texas rancher and a recognized firearms expert with a lifetime of hunting experience from Alaska to Africa, as well as competitive shooting in a variety of disciplines. He is a member of the Texas Outdoor Writers Association, Southeast Outdoor Press Association, and the Outdoor Writers Association of America. His articles have appeared in Texas Outdoors Journal, GUNS, GunWeek, and SHOT Business. In addition to many awards for journalism he has been named a Broadcast Pioneer by the Texas Association of Broadcasters and was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2009.Gunn has close family ties to the Mason area. He likes to say, “I was half raised in Mason and I have cousins and friends all over these hills.” His grandparents were Dee and Jewel Looney and his mother, Maxine Gunn, now resides in Fredericksburg. Gunn has a ranch near Voca. “I could not be more happy to have this show air in the Mason area and on a station that features two old friends of mine, Barry Kaye and Barry Kilgore,” says Gunn.Bill L. Olson, Co-Host, is Publisher/Editor of Texas Outdoors Journal, is a third generation Texan who has hunted and fished over much of the western half of the North American continent, from Mexico to Alberta Canada. Texas Outdoors Journal is consistently named as one of Texas’ Top outdoor publications. Olson is an avid saltwater angler and big game hunter with numerous elk, mule deer, whitetailed deer, antelope, moose, turkey and various predators to his credit. Olson has served on the Board for Texas’ Operation Game Thief and currently serves on the National Board of Directors of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. His weekly “On The Coast” report airs on the Fox Sports Network.
