Judy Black, FAAHC member from Kimble County, will present this Saturday’s Creative Session. Her program is on “Contour and Gesture Drawing”. It will begin at 10 AM in Mason’s Eckert Center.Saturday’s session will involve the participants in Contour, Gesture, and Quick drawing exercises. No ability to draw is necessary to learn and have fun with these exercises. Judy requested that members bring something to draw with (pencil, charcoal, pastels or marker) and a large sketch pad if you have one. Large sheets of newsprint will, also, be available. Judy will bring items to draw and would like for the participants to take turns modeling (fully clothed!!) for figure drawings. When this writer requested some background regarding her many talents, she shared that she had studied graphic art and fine art while earning her degree in landscape architecture at Texas Tech University. Since her college days, she has studied life drawing in an art school in Mexico and through several life drawing workshops. Life drawing is a very beneficial exercise for both sculptors and painters. While living and sculpting in Loveland, Colorado, she took part in weekly life drawing sessions provided by one of the local foundries.Remember: No previous art experience is necessary – come learn and enjoy!
