Wednesday, November 23, 2011 • Posted November 23, 2011

The Punchers traveled to San Antonio on Friday and met up with the Cardinals from La Villa. Though the Punchers had a few moments where their game lagged a tiny bit, it can easily be said that the Punchers dominated the game from beginning to end, posting a 68-20 score.See this week's stats inside this edition. This week, the Punchers meet Ganado, a powerhouse in Texas football. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday night at Canyon High School Stadium in New Braunfels (see the booster page for a map). There will be a pep rally/send off on the courthouse lawn at 1:30 p.m. Friday.Coach Kade Burns told the News that Ganado has some very big players, and a great deal of talent, as well as being extremely well coached. The Hornets love to run the ball; but, they also play great defense.Coach Burns reminded fans that Ganado makes very few mistakes, and they have lots of kids with tons of playoff experience."It will be a challenge for us but our staff and players will be ready. Watching them on film is similar to watching the Punchers…we have similar philosophies. It should be a great atmosphere for high school football."
