This school year, Mason FFA has been a quite successful organization. With hard work, time, and dedication, the students of Mason High School have excelled in competition. Earlier this Fall, the Range and Land evaluation teams competed at the Area VII FFA contest. Both teams placed 5th and qualified for State contest in the Spring. In addition, the Range Plant I.D. team placed fourth at Area. Members of the Plant ID team included Jack Graves, James Perlichek, and Luis Castillo. James Perlichek received high individual from Mason at District and was 7th high individual Area contest. Members of the Range team included Price Ruffin, Jeffrey Williams, Michael Williams, Michaela Martinez, and Elijah Dickenson. Price Ruffin received 3rd high individual at Area. Members of the Land team included Chance Stockbridge, Briggs Jones, Bodie Adams, Dyllan Hofmann, and Zane Graves. High individuals at District in this event were Dyllan Hofmann and Bodie Adams. At Area, Chance Stockbridge received 4th high individual.During the District LDE FFA Contest, 35 members participated in 11 events from the Mason FFA Chapter. Two teams, Public Relations and Senior Chapter Conducting, both placed 2nd and advanced to the Area contest. At Area this last week, Public Relations received 9th place, and Chapter Conducting received 8th. Even though, both made top 10, they did not advance to state. Members of the Senior Chapter Conducting team were Price Ruffin, Coby Velez, John Rocha, Caroline Hudson, Catelyn Felts, Courtney Brown, and Kirsten Shaw. Members of the Public Relations team were Ayla Reyes, Bodie Adams, and Catelyn Felts.Needless to say, Mason High School was well represented this year and we cannot wait for the spring events.
