Seventeen years ago, I was a Jack C. Hayes Rebel mom. We were going to the semi-finals this Friday. No losses to the Rebels had been made. They were a forth quarter team and had you standing and biting your fingernails to the bitter end. Oh, yes, this will never been forgotten.So, to all of you Puncher moms, you are having the ride of your life. The sandwiches that were shared with the other fans. The caravans with your school flag flying. The countless cooking for that football player and friends. The pep rallies! Back then we had Sam our basset hound all decked out with a rebel sun visor and rebel hankie around his neck. Puncher Pried and Rebel Pried, they just never go away. Do they?P.S. Hey, Punchers, remember, “Never think you’re the only pebble on the beach. Because there’s a Little Rock in Arkansas!
