EMS Fundraiser: Deadline This Friday, Dec. 16th!
Wednesday, December 14, 2011 • Posted December 14, 2011

This Friday, December 16th, is the deadline for making your donation to the annual Mason County E.M.S. fundraiser: “Operation Christmas Greeting”. A full-page “Community Greeting Card”, with an alphabetical listing of all contributors, will be in this paper’s Christmas edition on December 21st.The “Greeting’s” goal each year is to provide funds for needed equipment for our local E.M.S. Association. Mason has a very small staff and they are extremely grateful for their volunteers. Providing equipment that can better help them in their work to save lives is the reason this fundraiser exists. With three (3) ambulances to have ready for any emergency, these funds are valued highly. As stated last week, this year the need is to replace some of the basic equipment: i.e. backboards, head chucks, spider straps and all trauma equipment. Your funds these past years have helped them to have better equipment and, also, to keep the basics current. If you have not yet made your donation, please, fill out a coupon (use the one below or pick one up at your bank), printing your listing(s) exactly as you wish it or them to appear on the “Greeting”. Deposit your check - made payable to “Operation Christmas Greeting” and marked “Donation-EMS” - with your coupon attached at any of Mason’s three banks. You may also mail it to the bank of your choice. If mailing, address your envelope to: “Operation Christmas Greeting”, the name of the bank (First State Bank, Mason National Bank or The Commercial Bank), Mason, TX 76856. Residents, hunters and visitors recognize that Mason County is a very rural area and medical help can be many minutes away. The EMS is “the first help on sight” in situations that can be life-threatening. Helping these people to be the best equipped possible is a winning situation. Say “Merry Christmas” to all of the readers of this newspaper and donate to a “life-saving” association. We ask for your support. Thank You!
