The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, December 6th, for its monthly business meeting. There were 35 members in attendance. "Boss" Lion Kirby Groves was responsible for the program, and Secretary/Treasurer Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report.The Lions will be using their Pedia-Vision screening machine at the elementary school, testing the eyes of any child that stops by. This screening device checks for several eye diseases and abnormalities, and gives the eye doctor a good indication as to the vision problem the child is having. This screening was held December 6th, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, December 13th, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be John Gammill and the program will be the Christmas Party at the Eckert Civic Center.The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
