Mason Country Opry's Final Performance

The Mason Country Opry Christmas Show will be held on Tuesday, December 20, at the Odeon Theater in downtown Mason. The show will begin at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $8.00 and will be available at the door.This will be the final regular performance of the Mason Country Opry.“We have had an incredible thirteen year run,” Opry MC Tracy Pitcox said. “The majority of these opry show last about five years, and we feel fortunate to have survived this long. We really appreciate all of the great supporters of the Mason Country Opry through the years. We will still be doing the Llano, Marble Falls and Seguin opry shows and we just recently purchased a building in Brady as well.”The show will consist of the Mason Country Opry band members and guests performing country classics on the first half of the show and then Christmas classics on the second half of the show.Entertainers on the Mason Country Opry Christmas Show will include Frank Torres, Justin Trevino, Aaron Kothmann, Tommy Kent, Kelsey Behrens, Sammy Geistweidt, Benny Fred Kothmann and Shane Lively.Frank Torres is no stranger to the Mason Opry audience. Torres has performed on the show on many occasions. He started singing during his school years and worked as part of a family band playing at dances and various shows. He has two albums to his credit in “Texas Lonestar Alley” and his latest CD “Taking Chances.” Justin Trevino has gained a large following across Texas. From his initial project, Trevino has released seven successful albums. His latest project is titled “Two Of The Usual” and was released in November. The album is already getting rave reviews from throughout the country. Country Music People Magazine in London, England, gave the new CD a four star rating.Tommy Kent has worked the Mason Country Opry show for an excess of ten years. He has made several recordings throughout his career and performs at various opry shows including the Cross Timbers Country Opry in Stephenville. Aaron Kothmann has followed in the footsteps of his father, Benny Fred Kothmann. He has decided to pursue music on a full time basis and has released his first album. Aaron is an accomplished songwriter and has been booking various appearances for himself throughout Texas.Kelsey Behrens, a Mason native, was part of the very popular Rounders group that performed throughout the central Texas area in the 1970’s. Sammy Geistweidt was the leader of the Wagon Aces and Southern Image Band for nearly twenty years. He plays fiddle on the Mason, Llano and Marble Falls Opry shows. Benny Fred Kothmann was once part of the Johnny Bush Bandelero Band and has recently been performing vocals at the opry shows. Shane Lively, a native of Cherokee, plays drums for our various opry bands along with backing other entertainers including Darrell McCall and Justin Trevino on the road.For more information about the Mason, Llano or Marble Falls Opry shows, log on to or call (325) 597-1895.
