Mason Pony League Takes Second and Heads to the District Tournament
Wednesday, July 16, 2008 • Posted July 16, 2008

For the first time, Mason Pony League became affiliated with Texas Teenage Baseball. We had 6 teams in our affiliate. Mason had a team, as well as, San Saba and Llano. As Harper has gone to 2A they are getting baseball in their program and they brought a team. Brady had enough boys that they had 2 teams.

Official play started May 5. Each team had to play 10 games for the season. Mason went in to the end of the season with an 8 and 0 record. With 2 games left, we were playing short handed. Finally, on July 5, Mason played Llano for the right to claim first place. Unfortunately for Mason, Llano was able to win first place. Llano’s record was 9 and 1, Mason’s record was 8 and 2. Texas Teenage sends the top 2 teams from the affiliate to the District Tournament.

We are very proud of the Mason boys who have given their best to make it to second place. Mason will travel to Brownwood on July 14 to begin District Tournament play. This tournament will be a double elimination tournament. We appreciate Mason Feed Store sponsoring our team and making it possible for us to play the game we love.
