Award-Winning Husband-and-Wife Duo to Perform Outdoor Concert at Sandstone Cellars Winery and Santos

(Mason, Texas) ~ Sandstone Cellar Winery and Santos Taqueria, (featured as one of the Hill Country’s Top 25 Best Places in Texas Monthly Magazine), are pleased to present Kevin Higgins and Barbara Malteze, (founding members of The Dust Devils), in a rare, intimate acoustic setting. The performance of mostly original Americana-style songs will be given in the courtyard of these companion businesses, (Southeast corner of the town square in Mason), on Friday, July 18, 2008, 6-8pm.

Kevin Higgins, (guitar/vocals), a multi-award-winning songwriter from El Paso. He was the 1999 New Folk Finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival, earning his band a spot on the main stage the following year. His song “Company Time” was featured in the 2004 independent film “A Day without A Mexican.” At the 2006 Texas Music Awards, Higgins’ talents won him recognition with “Song of the Year”, “Vocal Duo of the Year” and “Album of the Year.”

Barbara Malteze, (keyboard/vocals), was the recipient of “Female Vocalist of the Year” for two consecutive years at the 2006 & 2007 Texas Music Awards, (an unprecedented feat). She also had the honor of being invited to headline the 18th Annual “Janis Joplin B’day Bash” at the Port Arthur Civic Center.

Higgins and Malteze reside in Marble Falls, Texas, (with two well-loved Quarter horses), where they work/live as caretakers on Candlelight Ranch, (, a retreat for kids with special needs.
