Mason County Livestock Show to be This Weekend

The 87th Mason County Livestock Show will be held January 6 & 7, 2012. Beginning on Friday at 9:00 a.m. the county show begins with Market Lambs, followed by Angora Goats and then Meat Goats. On Saturday, the Market Hog show begins at 8:00 with the Market Steers following at 11:00. A concession stand will be available during each show. On Saturday, January 7, in the evening beginning at 5:30, a meal will be served for the community with the premium sale following at approximately 6:30 p.m. This year’s hog exhibitors are Kenzie Ake, Kyleigh Ake, Ashlyn Brandenberger, Colten Brandenberger, Sheyenne Brandenberger, Quade Brandenberger, Grace Chapman, Jackson Chapman, Linden Chapman, Brody Comey, Jake Comey, Shelby Comey, Alexandra Cope, Eliza Cope, Branden Davis, Tanner Dutton, Austin Eckert, Cason Gibbs, Cooper Gibbs, Macie Gibbs, Reagan Gibbs, Dyllan Hofmann, Levi Hofmann, Kinsley Jordan, Ryland Jordan, Tad Kirby, Marshall Marquart, Millie Marquart, Aspen Martin, Nick Martin, Grant Sanders, Jax Tedder, Justyn Tedder and Kolby Yonker.Lamb exhibitors this year are Kirsten Allen, Avery Brooks, Riggin Farmer, Selah Farmer, Vivianna Gomez, Jacob Harris, Gabe Jennings, Aspen Martin, Dakota Martin, Sierra Martin, Baylee Owen, Rylee Owen, Makenna Palacio, Raegan Palacio, Riley Pape, Price Ruffin, Ryli Ruffin, Monaco Schmidt, Rio Schmidt, T. Ranger Schmidt, Brooke Stockbridge, and Kenley Stockbridge.The Meat Goat exhibitors are Kirsten Allen, Luis Castillo, Miguel Castillo, Andy Duarte, Sandy Duarte, Jacob Harris, Will Ince, Gabe Jennings, Aspen Martin, Chama Martin, Dakota Martin, Lucas Martin, Sierra Martin, Hugo Martinez, Isis Martinez, Sada Martinez, Breana Nail, Mickey Nail, Kirby O’Connell, Baylee Owen, Rylee Owen, Riley Pape, Haley Reams, Alexandria Row, Wyatt Row, Marie Roy, Heather Shaw, Kirsten Shaw, Monaco Schmidt, Rio Schmidt, T. Ranger Schmidt, Elijah Timms, and Madelyn Williams.The Angora Goat exhibitors are made up of Brianna Ellebracht, Ty Ellebracht, Riley Pape, Steeley Smith, Sterling Smith and Jayde Witt.Market Steers are being exhibited by Cade Bindseil, John Finn, Matthew Finn, Dakota Lee, Dawson Lee, Aspen Martin, Chama Martin, Dakota Martin, Makenna Palacio, Raegan Palacio, Chance Stockbridge, Fernando Torres, Sarah Williams, Korey Zavala, and Kyle Zavala.On Thursday, January 5, exhibitors are reminded that they will have their animals weighed for the show. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., all hogs will be weighed. At 5:00 p.m., lambs will be weighed, followed at 6:00 p.m. with the weighing of all meat goats. At 6:00 p.m., all Angora goat projects will be checked in. Steers will be weighed on Friday at 8:00 a.m. Exhibitors for meat goats, Angora goats and lambs will take their pictures, on Thursday, after they weigh in their animals. Hog exhibitors will take their pictures after the hog show on Saturday and steer exhibitors will also take pictures after the steer show. All exhibitors must pick up and turn in a Sales Slip for the Premium Sale after they show their last exhibit. If a Sales Slip is not turned in to the country secretary, their name will be placed at the bottom of the Premium Sale order. Turn these forms in to the announcers booth.The county show is an exciting time for 4-H and FFA exhibitors as they can exhibit their animal projects. Many of these animals will continue to the major shows in the state, so we hope to see you there.
