Puncher Club Notes
Wednesday, January 4, 2012 • Posted January 4, 2012

Although the Football season is over, the Puncher Club is still looking for ways to make sure our Punchers and Cowgirls get a first class experience while they are in school. Our projects that we completed this year were: replacing the headsets for the coaches and communications while they are on the field. The next purchase was that of travel shirts as well as compression shirts that our Punchers wear underneath their shoulder pads while in the game. I think everyone in town noticed that our boys looked great and wearing the same shirts marked them as a team and made them proud to have great looking shirts to travel and be seen in. The next purchase, if you happen to attend the basketball games, was the new customized ball racks as well as the customized water dispensers for both the Punchers and Cowgirls. They look awesome and anything we can do to make our kids proud we will do. The next effort was the weight room renovation as well as purchase of new squat racks, incline bench racks as well as power cling platforms. We completely cleaned and sanitized the weight room and repainted it, power washed the existing matting and repainted some of the equipment that was salvageable with the help of the Ag class. We also had an exhaust fan donated by Julio Ramon and Ram Construction. Thank you Julio! The renovation on the interior was mostly completed by Robert O’Neal. He did an outstanding job. Thank you for all your support Mr. O”Neal it is greatly appreciated. This project never would have been started without the vision and passion by Justin Bibb. He saw it from start to finish and devoted many man hours on his own to ensure its completion. Thank you, Mr. Bibb! The airless sprayer, as well as the painting of the interior and the new wood on the walls, was done by Mr. Tommy Newsome. Thank you, Mr. Newsome for your time and efforts. The next project that we will be doing this month will be the Cowgirls dugout along with a storage room and visitor’s dugout. It is a project that will be spearheaded by Julio Ramon. We are in need of cinderblock layers so if you have the skill and are willing to donate your time please contact me @512-809-0131 and I will get you set up with Julio on dates and times that we will be needing your assistance. Melissa Stockbridge and Victoria Duarte have done an outstanding job with the sales of Puncher memorabilia. It is an overwhelming task at times and takes up a lot of their time and my hat goes off to the both of them. Thank you both! If you have any ideas that you feel will benefit the kids we are open to any and all comments you have. You can contact me at the number listed above or email me @ and I will get back with you. We are off to a great start but our efforts remain focused on bettering the environment for our Punchers and Cowgirls. Thanks to Jan Dutton and Gladys Kaderka for helping with the fan bus organization you were awesome. The dance for the Punchers was a huge success thanks to Megan Bierschwale and Jamie Lee donating their time on the decorating. Tammy Gardner, Debra Schovajsa and her sister from Houston, Delores Villareal, Melissa Stockbridge, Shelby Watson and numerous others did a great job of feeding the boys it was a team effort. Thanks to all those that donated food for this event I think it was awesome! Go Punchers and Cowgirls.
