Ernesto Gonzales Jr., born on July 12, 1966, went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2012, at the age of 45. Ernesto was born and raised in Mason TX, graduated Mason High School, later attending TSTI in Waco TX, later graduating from St. Phillips College San Antonio TX as a Surgical Technician. He worked at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio for 10 years, as well as the American Red Cross Organ and Tissue Bank, and later pursued his profession by obtaining a national certification that allowed him to work throughout the a Certified Surgical First Assistant. With his certification he worked in Illinois, Ohio, Florida, and Maryland where Ernesto, Velma and dog “Chiquita” lived for 6 years before returning to Floresville Texas in 2006. Ernesto loved the outdoors, traveling, amusement parks, and enjoyed working outside. Ernesto was a smart loving wonderful husband, brother, friend and will be greatly missed by many.Ernesto was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Soledad Ojeda Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife of 19 years Velma Gonzales of Floresville TX, father Ernesto Gonzalez Sr. of Mason TX, sister Maribel Gonzales Lang and her husband James of Boerne TX.Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. Followed by Vigil and Rosary at 7:30p.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church-Honey Creek Spring Branch TX. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church-Honey Creek Spring Branch TX. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Saspamco TX. You may sign the on-line guest book at under the obituary section.
