Robin.Right there on the Courthouse lawn.Maybe that means early Spring.Or maybe it means nothing.Or maybe it’s like the old saying:The early bird gets the worm. Those old sayings may be old.But they’re full of common sense.Which is not so common.Just look at our politicians. No one makes sense. No matter which side. It’s a mad, mad, mad, mad world.Nonsense, after all, is non-sense.In simpler times, one took heed.Look before you leap.Put your money where your mouth is.A stitch in time saves nine.Waste not, want not. What goes around comes around.Don’t cut your nose off to spite your face.Or throw the baby out with the bathwater.(And that is so easy to do.)Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. You catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar. If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.Bite your tongue.Silence is golden.Which brings up the married couple who lived in wedded bliss for 20 years. And then they learned to speak each other’s language.Let sleeping dogs lie.Leave well enough alone.Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke. So when the red, red robin…Never bite the hand that feeds you.Haste makes waste.Goes bob, bob, bobbin’ along…Early to bed, early to riseMakes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.Research now shows lack of sleep causes many ailments. And it’s no fun being wealthy if you’re tired.Or stupid.Better safe than sorry. As for that robin…A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. That’s Mason.
