The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, January 17th, for it’s regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 37 members and two visitors in attendance. Lion David Hanscheck was responsible for the program and introduced John Keller, High School coach and teacher, who spoke about the boys' basketball team.John said they got a late start because of the state championship win; but, the boys hit the court running. He said their athletic ability and their physical conditioning carried over from football. These boys play unselfishly and work as a team.John said they will start district play on January 27th in Mason, against Center Point. He invited everyone to come out and support our teams.The Pancake Supper was annother success, and we want to thank all who attended.The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, January 24th, at noon at Zavala’s. The program chairman will be Kendal Hemphill.The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
