Wednesday, February 1, 2012 • Posted February 1, 2012

Attention all tennis fans!On Wednesday, February 8th @ 6:00pm, Mason Tennis Association (MTA) will have a special meeting to discuss plans to resurface and repair courts 1-4 and courts 9&10. The meeting will begin at 6pm at the High School Library. With tennis season upon us, we strongly encourage attendance.Mason tennis is as wonderful and highly anticipated as bluebonnets in springtime. We certainly miss our state flower when it fails to bloom and blanket the countryside in profusion. And while we can’t control conditions set by Mother Nature, we can take charge of something as dear to our hearts as our tennis program. So, let’s join together, to take care of and nourish another of our great springtime traditions, Mason tennis! The list of past contributors is long and varied with many community individuals, and businesses, along with players and coaches, who have helped promote and build upon Mason’s tennis heritage. We thank Mason Community Foundation, who helped bring our electrical needs up-to-date. With our gratitude, the City of Mason and Mason ISD have worked with us for over 50 years to ensure the continued use of our community and school courts! MTA is so appreciative of all who have supported the programs, the facilities and especially the opportunities provided our youth. And a tremendous Thank You for the grant received from United States Tennis Association, to build a pavilion to honor our local legends, tennis players and the many volunteers who have helped establish Mason’s successful tennis legacy. And what a legacy! 75 State UIL Championships and 19 State Team Tennis Titles…and still counting! Plan to attend the meeting on Wednesday, February 8, 6pm at the High School Library. With your help, we will continue to be THE BEST!Join the fun and become a member of Mason Tennis Association! If you would like to acknowledge someone and support Mason’s winning tennis program…Buy a brick to be placed at this new pavilion! All are invited to share in the love of the game and come enjoy some great tennis this spring and summer! For more information visit our website: Once there, you’ll be able to buy a brick, join MTA or just share in the memories!
