Thanks to the generous donation of Brent and Monica Hinckley, the Mason Ministerial Alliance will have the use of their premises located at 324 Fort McKavitt for the operation of the Mason Food Bank. The new location is next to the Community Thrift Store.Beginning Monday February 13, 2012, the Mason Food Bank will distribute food from 3:00 to 5:30 PM at this new location. And on the following months of the year food will continue to be distributed on the second Monday of each month at the same time.A large group of wonderful energetic volunteers appeared with their pickups early Tuesday morning the 24th of January and moved all the food and supplies to the new location. David Vater oversaw the moving of all the shelves to the new location which was quite a feat. He and his drill happy crew disassembled and reassembled several shelves that did not want to fit thru the existing doors.The week before some of the strong and now famous high school football players, along with a group from the Mason Community Kitchen headed by Scott Zesch, moved freezers to the new location.
