River Sound Recording BBQ, Bands and ToursCastell General StoreThe RiverCastell, Texas News Feb 2012River Sound Recording: BBQ, Bands, & CastellapaloozaCastell Texas is a small riverside town on the Llano River. It may be small but boasts amazing variety of fun and fame.In Feb of this year, River Sound Recording begins preparations for the grand opening of the new studio on the Llano.River Sound has been making great Texas music for 14 years and has recorded many artists, including Joe King Carrasco, Van Wilks, Colleen Brockman, Bennett Brier, Texas Songwriters in the Round and many more. The grand opening will be on March 17th starting at 3PM so musicians can attend and still get to work.Jerialice Arsenault started the facility in 1998 and has completed a full remodel, equipment upgrade and added more services to go forward into the new digital age. The services include tracking, mixing, editing and mastering of any type of audio. Some video services will also be offered. Youtube it, Soundcloud it, baby! Much more is in the works. Come meet the engineers.Take the tour and enjoy the celebration. Performers such as John Arthur Martinez, Vernell and Alan’s Polka Folka, Daniel Valentine and Karen Abrahams will be coming out to celebrate the event and play for the crowd. There will be a bluegrass jam to end out the night. Camping is available.CastellapaloozaMarch 17th, Starting at 5PM kids come to the Riversounds stage at Castellapalooza, there’s a talent contest for hill country youth. Prize includes: free day of audio/video studio time, public performances on stage at several public venues and a trophy!Prize drawings for studio time will commence at that same time for big kids. Including old time gospel and worship teams from many local churches it was fun. The Sanctuary has been remodeled and while you are in town ask to see the restored historic church, it is beautiful and upholds the heritage of this old German town.The other news of note is the Castell Post office is on the list to be closed so the community is working together to prevent that from being approved. Like many small towns, Castell depends on the postal service for the elderly and businesses.
