Chocolate Fantasy Weekend Features Glittering Live Auction

What could be better than indulging yourself and your sweetheart in chocolate fantasies for the entire weekend before Valentine’s Day? How about also scoring one (or more) of the mouthwatering items being offered at a Live Auction during the Friday Night opening event for the Kerr Arts & Cultural Center’s Chocolate Fantasy Weekend - the celebrated “Delectable Desires: An Evening of Food and Wine” ($50 per person) from 6-8:30 PM on February 10th?Besides noshing their way through offerings from Kerrville’s finest chefs, sipping fine wines, and of course beginning the weekend-long “Who can possibly eat all that chocolate?” marathon, Friday evening party-goers at KACC will have the opportunity to bid on a vast array of goodies including: an Americus Diamond “Circle of Support” Diamond Pendant; a “Celebration Package” from Bella Luz, Especially Yours Florist, and Creative Cakes by Sharon; a “Portrait Package” from James Partain Photography and Rivers Edge Gallery; a James Avery sterling silver double curb bracelet with eight of the new Avery Art Glass charms; a Comanche Trace Golf Package; a Two-Night Stay at a Stablewood Springs Villa; a “Hill Country Gourmet Package” from River’s Edge Tuscan Grill, Bonzai, Grape Juice, and Navajo Grill; a “San Antonio Dining Experience” from Chama Gaucha and Boudro’s on the Riverwalk; Paintings by Hildegarde Slaughter, Lynn Lindley, and Dan Burt; a certificate from Clint Orms for a custom-made belt buckle; a “Hill Country Adventure Package” from Twin Elms Guest Ranch, Learn 2 Fly, and Kerrville Kayak and Canoe; a flight instruction package from Learn 2 Fly; and a hand-crafted porch swing from Dale Daigle.In addition to the Friday evening auction and bash, KACC’s Chocolate Fantasy weekend will include two events on Saturday Feb. 11th: a Cooking Seminar/Demonstration from 1-3 PM & a Wine Seminar from 3:30 - 5 PM ($35 pp for each event) with copious tastings of course. The Cooking Demo & Tasting will feature gourmet cook Karen Vaucher presenting “The Mediterranean Way of Life and Cuisine”, and the Wine Seminar & Tasting will be presented by well-known sommelier Leah McGee. Then on Sunday 2/12, party-goers will stagger on in for the “All You Can Eat” Chocolate Buffet ($15pp in advance; $20pp at the door) which will feature all the entries in the Chocolate Cooking Contest - prizes to be announced at 1 PM.Throughout the weekend, combining the themes of Art and Chocolate, the juried show “Love Is ...” will be hung in the gallery for all to enjoy.Want to save money while indulging your personal Chocolate Fantasies? An all-weekend discounted pass is only $120 per person and, of course, tickets for individual events are also available.
