The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, February 7th, for its monthly business meeting. There were 30 members and one visitor in attendance. "Boss" Lion, Kirby Groves, was responsible for the program and Secretary/Treasurer Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report.The Pancake Supper was a good success, and the two $500 scholarships for community service will again be awarded to two graduating seniors. There was no other business, so the meeting was adjourned.The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, February 14th, at noon at Zavala’s. The program chairman will be Harold Hoerster.The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
