AUSTIN, Texas––Every ten years the Texas Historical Commission (THC), along with its partners, develops a Statewide Preservation Plan to set an agenda for preservation issues and encourage partnerships across the state. The plan serves as a path for Texans to follow as they work to preserve, protect, and promote the historic and cultural resources Texas enjoys. There are many ways to participate in the process, the first of which is visiting www.preservationconnection.com. There, you can join the Preservation Network, browse the online Preservation Directory, or tell your own preservation success story and learn about other projects throughout the state. Preservation Connection: Texas Statewide Historic Preservation Plan is a collaborative effort that will carry Texas through 2020 and encourages everyone to be an active part of this exciting work in progress. When you explore the plan online you can download a one-page summary or the complete document and start communicating with other Texans working to preserve the real places that tell the real stories of the Lone Star State. For more information visit www.preservationconnection.com or contact the THC’s Tracey Silverman at 512.936.9615.
