Friends of the Library Book sale Preparations

Did you know that the Mason County government has never funded books for the Mason County Library ? The County does support the Library by paying salaries, benefits, utilities, software services, maintenance and more. However, money for books and media comes from local organizations and state grants. This year state grants have been eliminated due to budget cuts. Friends of the Library is working to provide the $5,000 to replace state funds to purchase books and media for the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Library.Therefore the Friends of the Library ask You to contribute your used books, Come to our Book Sale and Buy Books. Then our Library will BUY New Books !To donate used books go to Cherokee Rose, 421 Ft Mckavitt St.(Th-Sat., 10-5) or call Carolyn at 347-4039. Monetary contributions are also welcome.The Book and Bake Sale will be at the Library, Saturday, March 31st, 10 – 4 and Mon. – Wed. April 2nd -4th,10-6.Want to get 1st look at the books for sale? Just join Friends of the Library and come to the Early Sale for Friends of the Library members on March 30th. Membership is open to all. Joining costs as little as $5.00 and shows your support for the Library. Forms are available at the Library and area banks.
