On March 27th, 2012 there will be a Private Applicators License training conducted at the Mason County Library. Registration will start at 8:30 and the training will begin at 9:00 A.M. We will take a break for lunch (lunch on your own). At 2:00 P.M. a representative from TDA will be on hand to administer the test. The office is located at 410 Post Hill Mason, Texas. The registration fee is $50.00 and covers the cost of your training materials. The purpose of the training is to allow home and private landowners to obtain a license to purchase and apply restricted-use, state-limited use and regulated pesticides on property owned, rented, owned by an employer or under general control of the applicator. The license once obtained is good for 5 years, with Continuing Education (CEU) requirements in order to maintain the license. All farm and ranch operators who do not have a Private Applicators License to purchase “restricted use” pesticides (such as 2,4-D, Grazon P+D, Tordon 22K, etc.) will need to attend this training. Those wishing to obtain a license for the purpose of applying pesticides for hire must obtain a Commercial Applicator’s License through TDA. Those needing to take Commercial or Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicator test are welcome to come and test at 2:00 P.M. as well. If you need study materials contact us for a copy of the order form for the materials. You are asked to RSVP by March 20th, 2012 so materials can be ordered. Payments can be made at the door on the 27th. You can RSVP by calling the Extension Office at 325-347-6459.
