Zula Earline Johnson, aged 90, of Mason, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 8th, 2012, in Fredericksburg Memorial Hospital. She was born June 26, 1921, in Streeter, Texas, to Charlie and Nettie Mae Taylor. She was preceded in death by husband L. A. Morrison of Mason, and husband Billy Jack Johnson of Mason; one son, Joe Tom Johnson; and, one grandson, Karl Kade Kothman.Those missing her dearly from her marriage to L. A. Morrison are: her daughter, Sheba Kay Kothman and husband Carlos Bill Kothman; along with grandson Kenn Kothman and wife Kimberly; and, great granddaughters Kolby and Keyla Kothman. Also, great granddaughter, Kyann Kothman, daughter of Kade Kothman.Those left behind to honor her memory from her marriage to Billy Jack Johnson are: Billy Karl Johnson and wife Donna, along with granddaughter Jenna Johnson. She is also survived by her sister, Lula Rankin of San Antonio, and brother J. W. Taylor and wife Charlene of Harper. She had numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family and leaves many dear friends in Mason.Zula enjoyed cooking and sewing and truly loved spending time with her family. She attended River of Life Church in Mason and her walk with the Lord was a central part of her life. She and her sister Lula sang gospel music on the radio in the 1930s and she played piano and guitar in church during her younger years.Serving as pallbearers were Billy Karl Johnson, Kenn Kothman, Tommy Taylor, Timmy Taylor, Richard Taylor and Lewis Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Johnson, Larry Johnson, Berry Johnson, Billy Charles Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Donny Johnson, Roger Hart, Jay Schovajsa, Roger Jordan, Will Frey, Hortencia Cardoza and the employees of Country Home Health of Mason.Her funeral was held on Sunday, March 11 at Mason Funeral Home.
