The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, March 6th, for its monthly business meeting. There were 31 members and no visitors in attendance. "Boss" Lion, Kirby Groves, was responsible for the program and Secretary/Treasurer Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report.Lion Fritz Landers gave a talk about the battle of the Alamo. He had some interesting facts he had obtained from the internet that did not hold true to the history we had always been taught. It was an interesting talk.The club’s next meeting will be held next March 13th, at noon at Zavala’s. The program chairman will be President's Choice.The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
