Certified Wound Specialist Greta K. Hartmann will lead a public presentation on physical therapy wound care technique options available at the Hill Country Memorial Wound-Healing Clinic.The session will be Wednesday, Mar. 21 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the HCM Cancer Resource Center in the Brune Professional Building, 808 Reuben Street in Fredericksburg. She will describe current physical therapy wound care techniques, what complicates the healing process and how to provide optimal healing. Treatments available locally can help heal wounds caused by diabetes, poor circulation, pressure ulcers, blood clots or post-operative lesions.She will also address types of wound closure, edema (swelling) control, splinting to off-load weight on a wound and scar remodeling. Ms. Hartmann holds a master’s degree in physical therapy and a bachelor’s degree in health care sciences from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
