Celebrate with the Irish this St. Patrick’s Day on March 17 and enjoy Desserts of Llano from 1:00 to 3:00. This mouthwatering event. in its sixth year, is sponsored by Llano Main Street and the Llano County Journal. There are 10 participating restaurants and there will be samplings of their delicacies at different businesses around town. Headquarters will be in front of the LanTex Theater where you will pick up a map, showing where the desserts will be located. There are other activities in town that day, also. Besides strolling both sides of the Llano and shopping the stores involved, enjoy music in the gazebo with the Highway 16 Band. “Journey to the Mysterious Island” will be showing at the LanTex this week-end, also. We would like the businesses to add to the day by having sidewalk sales.After visiting all the locations, bring your map back to the LanTex by 3:30 and vote on your favorite restaurant. There will be a drawing for gift certificates at the restaurants in town.The following restaurants will be offering their wonderful desserts Saturday. The Acme will be at Stuffology; Inman’s Kitchen at Binky La Fays, Stonewalls at Dust Devil Diver, Berry Street Bakery at Enchanted Rocks and Jewelry, Laird’s BarBQ at Charlies, Dairy Queen at Create, and the new owners of Lone Star Coffee at Material Things. Although not open yet, the new Bella Sicilia Italian Restaurant will bring a sample of their desserts to Sweet Mesquite, Hungry Hunter at Slocumb’s Bessemer Store, and Granite Top Grill at One Trick Pony in the rail yard.
