FAAHC Enjoys a "HIDDEN" Program Directed by Martha Richardson
Wednesday, March 21, 2012 • Posted March 21, 2012

On Saturday, March 17th, at the Mason Eckert Civic Center, Martha Richardson presented to the “Creative Session” of the Fine Arts Association of the Hill Country an interesting program on the theme of “HIDDEN.” “Hidden” means something of the unexpected. This idea was used as a potential theme for works of art. As an adjective this word means concealed from view, secluded, secret, lying beyond what is obvious, buried or obscured. Some of the ways this topic was used to create pieces of art were by hiding something behind a piece of paper, making objects that fit into a box, having a little man disappear into a lipstick tube, words hidden within a design, a photograph concealed behind lace on a fabric bracelet, the image of a child hidden behind layers of sticks and branches...just to mention a few of the ideas that became a reality at the creative session this month. On Saturday, April 7th, the FAAHC Annual Field Trip will be to attend Robin Clark’s reception and art show “Fragments” at the Kerrville Arts and Cultural Center. If you are interested in joining the FAAHC or have questions about this non-profit organization please contact Carol Kothmann, 325-347-5598 or Judy Uherek 325-265-4480.
