I would like you to publish this letter In this week’s paper.I read with interest & some dismay the letter by Diane Eames in last week’s MCN. In it she accuses the Texas state legislature of wanting to restrict access to healthcare for women by requiring a sonogram prior to getting an abortion. She goes so far as to suggest that the Republican controlled legislature desires to produce unwanted babies, even those with health problems. What she fails to address is that abortion terminates a human life & as such should not be taken lightly. My Wife & I were involved with the Crises Pregnancy ministry for a time & we can tell you that once the young women viewed their baby on the sonogram very few of them chose abortion. Most of the babies were carried to term & then placed for adoption. There are currently nearly 2 million couples in the U.S. wanting to adopt but most of them have to go overseas to do so. Part of the reason for that is the practice of abortion on demand which has been the law of the land since Roe V Wade in 1973. Currently more than one million babies are slaughtered in the womb in the U.S. every year. It has been estimated the total of little humans denied life is about 55 million. The fact is that abortion is a holocaust of major proportion. The 12 million deaths Adolph Hitler was responsible for & the 20 million or so Joseph Stalin was responsible for pale in comparison. Those of us who place a high value on human life applaud the decision of the Texas state legislature.
