Johnson City Outdone by Trip, 3-1
Wednesday, March 21, 2012 • Posted March 21, 2012

Chance Stockbridge had a good game at the plate as he hoisted the Punchers to a 3-1 victory over Johnson City in seven innings at Johnson City on Saturday. Stockbridge racked up two RBIs on two hits for Mason. Stockbridge singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning. Austin Trip gave Johnson City fits on the rubber. With Trip’s ability to work ahead in the count and establish his fastball on the inside part of the plate, Johnson City managed just two hits off of the Mason Puncher’s pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out nine during his seven innings of work. Aggressive baserunning led to six steals for The Punchers. Luis Castillo, Austin Trip, Chance Stockbridge, and Jake Newsom each had one stolen base and Winston Trip had two stolen bases.
