Editor:

Last Christmas, a misinformed reader wrote in condemning the term "Xmas," incorrectly implying that it was un-Christian and therefore disrespectful. Wonder how many people know where the term "Easter" comes from? It is derived from "Eostre," the Teutonic goddess of spring and fertility (hence, bunnies and eggs). Talk about un-Christian and disrepectful! It is absolutely PAGAN! Does THIS please The Holy Trinity? We SHOULD greet each other with, "Happy Resurrection Day!" The celebration AND its name should glorify and honor ONLY the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, NOT a pagan goddess! If we are indeed true Christians, let's NOT associate paganism with our blessed Christian holiday! (2 Corinthians 6:12-18, 7:1)
