The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) of the Concho Valley Council of Governments will be visiting Brady to provide information about benefits that may be available for Medicare recipients and/or 60 years of age or older persons. Jim Bright will be available to assist with the application process for Food Stamps, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Chip and Medicaid and have general information available regarding state benefits. The “Answer Van” will be at the Sunset Center at 214 West Lockhart on Tuesday April 17th at 10:30am until 11:30am and the Helping Hands Center 906 East 11th 12:00-1:00in Brady. “Answers on Aging” is designed to provide information about services and programs available to older individuals. Intake Specialists will be available to assist you with any questions you may have. Programs that are housed in the Area Agency on Aging include Advocacy (Texas Silver Haired Legislature), Benefits Counseling (Medicare Part D), Care Coordination (Prescription and Utility Assistance & Homemaker Services), Caregiver Support (Respite Care), Foster Grandparent Program (Mentoring Children), Ombudsman Program (Advocates for Long-Term Care Residents), Senior Companion Program (Companions for the Elderly), and 2-1-1 of the Concho Valley (Health & Human Services Information). A wide variety of printed information covering various topics will also be available.
