Texas Retired Teachers Give the Gift of Reading

Mason, Junction, Menard TRTA unit presented to Headstart children who received free books this year. The Texas Retired Teachers Association (trta) announced the launch of this year’s Children Book Project, a statewide effort to place books with children.“This is a fund undertaking and as lifelong educators, we love encouraging children to read,” said Mary Ann Woodward, Junction, president of the Tri-County unit. Reading fosters knowledge and opens up imagination. Every child should have books.ABOUT TRTA: Texas Retired Teachers Association is an organization of retired public school employees. It advocates improved benefits for current and retired system workers and seeks to advance the membership. This is critical time for current and retired teachers.
