The One Act Play Zone Contest was held on March 21 in Sonora. Mason High School’s One Act Company presented scenes from “Cheaper By the Dozen.” Their performance was awarded with advancement to the District Competition. Other individual awards earned at the zone competition were: Best Actor – Jacob Bibb; All-Star Cast Members – Claudia Canfield, Caroline Hudson, Star Longoria and Brodey Taylor. Honorable Mention All-Star Cast Members – Matt Banner, Avery Gibbs, Dyllan Hofmann and Katherine Koock. The outstanding Crew Award went to Alex Carruth. The District Competition will be held this Thursday, April 5, at Tivy High School in Kerrville. The first school will perform at 1:30. MHS will be the sixth (and final) play to perform on Thursday. Tivy High School requires all guests to check in at the office and present identification. The One Act Cast/Crew and Directors are thankful for the support from the parents, community and the Mason ISD faculty and administration. The following businesses and citizens loaned props and scenery items for the play: Country Collectables, Mason Resale Barn, Hinckley’s, Mason County Courthouse, The Attic in Fredericksburg, Fredericksburg Theater Company, Nancy Andrews, Karla Bearden, Martha Draper, Gerald Geistweidt, Marilyn Holt, Lori Holubec, Jack Lee, Susan Martin and Patrice Searsy. Thank you!
