The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, March 27th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 39 members and five visitors in attendance. Lion Chris Dyer was responsible for the program and introduced J. W. Harle, Area Director for "Young Life," who spoke about the Young Life program.Young Life was founded in 1941 by Jim Rayburn, a seminary student and part time youth minister in Gainesville, Texas. The mission of Young Life is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. Young Life volunteers go where the youth are, meet them on their turf and share God's love. This worked in 1941, and it works today.Anyone interested in helping with this program can contact J. W. at (214) 957-7913 or email him at jwharle@gmail.com .The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, April 3rd, at noon at Zavala’s. The program will be the monthly business meeting. The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
