The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, April 3rd, for its monthly business meeting. There were 34 members and 18 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were 17 Habitat for Humanity Care-A-Vanners.

"Boss" Lion Kirby Groves was responsible for the program and Secretary/Treasurer, Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report.

A Hamburger Lunch is planned for April 20th. More info to come.

The Mason Community Foundation presented a check for $1200 to the Lions Club to be used for the 5K/10K Walk-Run later this fall.

It was announced that John Gammill has been elected as Zone 2 Chairman and will take office July 1, 2012.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, April 10th, at noon at Zavala’s. The program chairman will be Bruce Lehmberg.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
