The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, April 10th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 36 members and two visitors in attendance.

Lion Bruce Lehmberg was responsible for the program and introduced Tim Lehmberg, Executive Director of the Gillespie County Economic Development Board who spoke about his job as Executive Director.

Tim briefly talked about his duties and some of the projects he and the board were working on. He went into great detail about the things that had been accomplished in the last few years. He also gave some of the drawbacks to having such a tourist oriented city.

The hamburger Lunch will be April 20th on the west side of the Courthouse lawn.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, April 17th, at noon at Zavala’s. The program chairman will be Mark Lehmberg.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
