Too many cooks spoil the soup? Not so when the Mason Community Kitchen chefs prepare one-dish meals to be distributed at the local Food Bank. On March 31, March, Cathy Terrell was the chief chef and oversaw preparation of Italian Sausage and Pasta.

Each month, the Kitchen volunteers prepare about 160 containers (each serving about 3 people) of the dish-of-the-month, a tasty, nutritious, and complete meal. Meals are quickly frozen and stored until the next monthly distribution date at the Food Bank, which is now located adjacent to the Community Thrift Store, on Fort McKavitt street.

Special thanks this month go to Barbara Tatsch, a veteran MISD cafeteria cook, who volunteered her weekend time to supervise the Community Kitchen workers, at the MISD kitchen.
