Ashleigh Martin Attends State Art Competition
Wednesday, April 25, 2012 • Posted April 25, 2012

Freshman Ashleigh Martin attended the State VASE Art Competition in College Station on Saturday, April 14th. The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) has sponsored the Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) since 1994. VASE is the only art event of its kind in the nation. Students are provided the opportunity to bring artworks created in their art classes to their regional event where they are interviewed by a certified juror who evaluates their work based on a standard based rubric and their understanding of the art processes involved in the development of their artwork. This year approximately 25,000 works of art competed state wide. Ashleigh advanced to the state competition with a colored pencil drawing titled Hard Life Of A Pig. You will be able to view her piece along with other Mason High School student work at the Lamplight Designs Art Competition to be held at Topaz Confections May 4-12.
